🐾 Full Breeding Rights Policy –

At StarFire Shepherds, we are deeply committed to preserving the integrity, health, and excellence of our breed. Granting full breeding rights is a serious responsibility, and we approach it with the utmost care and discretion.

This policy outlines the standards and expectations we uphold when considering applicants for full breeding rights. Our goal is to ensure that every dog placed with breeding privileges contributes positively to the breed’s future—physically, temperamentally, and ethically.

⚠️ Please Note: We reserve the right to revoke breeding rights at any time if the recipient fails to maintain the standards outlined in this policy or engages in practices that compromise the welfare of the dogs or the reputation of our program.

✅ Approved Criteria for Full Breeding Rights

To ensure our dogs are placed in responsible and ethical breeding programs, we evaluate each applicant based on the following standards:

1. Breeding Experience & Knowledge:

Applicants must demonstrate a clear understanding of responsible breeding practices, including genetics, whelping, and puppy development.

2. Health Testing Commitment:

Approved homes must commit to performing and sharing results of relevant health screenings (e.g., OFA, genetic panels) prior to breeding. Full breeding rights will not be fully granted until all required health testing is completed and verified. This includes but is not limited to OFA certifications, genetic panels, and breed-specific screenings.

3. Facility & Environment:

Breeding must take place in a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of all dogs.

4. Ethical Breeding Practices:

We do not approve homes associated with puppy mills, overbreeding, or unethical sales. Breeding must prioritize the health and temperament of the dogs.

5. Program Goals & Intent:

Applicants should have a clear purpose for breeding—whether to improve the breed, support therapy/service work, or contribute to responsible pet ownership.

6. References & Reputation:

We may request references from veterinarians, trainers, or breed clubs. Online presence and community reputation may also be considered.

7. Ongoing Communication:

Approved breeders must be open to maintaining communication and providing updates on breeding plans and puppy placements.

8. Additional Fee Requirement:

Full breeding rights are available only as an add-on for an additional fee. The fee varies depending on:

  • Gender of the dog
  • Lineage and pedigree quality
  • Genetic traits and testing outcomes

This fee reflects the value of our breeding program and the exceptional quality of our shepherds.
